What I Do not believe

What I DO NOT Believe

In discovering what we “do” believe, we also must clarify what we “do not” believe. To help you understand my stance on what I do not believe, below, I have clarified my stance against deep seeded false belief’s in Christian circles, that are heretical and not at all support by the Assemblies of God nor other major protestants; whether Pentecostal or not. The common title to the FALSE belief is known as “Word of Faith”. Additionally, I have given the names of the preachers and teachers that subscribe to the heretical “Word of Faith” beliefs with proofs of their foundational errors Biblically speaking. You will find most of the “Word of Faith” preachers are TV preachers.

There are HUGE errors of “Word of Faith” that have sadly seeped into many hearts and churches due to heretical schools such as Rhema. Furthermore, these fallacies are not in agreement with the Assemblies of God, let alone majority of protestants, whether Pentecostal or not.

This is NOT an attempt to demonize “Word of Faith” preachers or their adherents, but it is to state what they believe at the foundation level is clearly not Biblically accurate and therefore hurtful and damaging to those who hold to it. As well, it is to call them to accountability and repentance.

If we let people continue to think that we are in agreement with them according to such heresies, it creates greater heartache and deeper conflict.

As well, I have listed just some of the names of “Word of Faith” preachers I do not ascribe too in any way, shape or form (not their teachings, their books, their sermons). And I have provided resources to WHY I are ardently against such beliefs and the scriptural proof of why it is heresy, another gospel and ultimately… a different Jesus.

The job/duty of a Pastor:

Titus 1:9 (NIV)
9  He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

Titus 2:1 (NIV) 1  You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.

2 Timothy 4:2-4 (NIV) 2  Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction. 3  For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4  They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

1 Timothy 6:3-5 (NIV) 3  If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4  he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5  and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

2 Timothy 2:15 (NIV) 15  Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

2 Timothy 1:13 (NIV) 13  What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

Romans 16:17-18 (NIV) 17  I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. 18  For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.

It can be uncomfortable but regardless it is necessary. Today, perhaps more than any recent era, the gospel is in dire NEED to be clarified with proper doctrine and theology. That need has greatly increased, especially in the church and because of pluralism.

I am are excited about the days ahead as Christians grow in the truth and see others grow because the truth sets us free!

Here is one of many articles/videos etc I am posting to clarify, declare and defend the foundational truths of the Word of God!

Here is my 2016 Pastor’s Report while I was the Sr. Pastor in Shenandoah, Iowa where I read the notes my Theology Professor Dr. Bruce Rosedahl at Southwester Assembly of God University

More videos to help understand the what, why and how for needing proper doctrine and theology

These three videos are by far the most compelling: Watch all three in the order they are here. They are from probably the TOP watchdogs and authority dismantling Word Of Faith and a friend of mine: Justin Peters!

Word of Faith Heresy Exposed

A Call for Discernment

Part 1

And here is one of the video’s of Justin Peter’s when we had him come to Shenandoah for 4 days. (BTW) The Mannequin in the back is just a prop because I do a sermon series’ called “Fight For THE Faith” I know it looks like an arm-less bodyguard for Justin… LOL!

Another SAD name for these heretical Word of Faith Preachers is the prosperity preachers… Here is a word From John Piper of Desiring God Ministries about the prosperity gospel

Here is the Christian Research Institutes breakdown of why “Word of Faith” is not Biblical.
